Postdoctoral Researcher (f/div/m) Infection Biology
starting from November 2021 at the earliest for 2 years initially.
The successful candidate will work with the BMBF-funded interdisciplinary network InfectControl, which has the goal to develop new strategies for the combat of infectious diseases. In our trans-regional project “VIKON” we are working on a new approach based on virus-binding nanoparticles for the treatment of COVID-19.
Development of methods to monitor the binding and uptake of virus aggregates by host cells using fluorescence microscopy (including CLSM)
Establishment of in-vitro models for testing the therapeutic potential of conjugates
Participation in the production and testing of peptide nanoparticle conjugates
PhD degree in biology, biochemistry, chemistry or related life sciences.
Knowledge of and hands-on experience in fluorescence microscopy (incl. CLSM), cell cultivation and cell-based assays
General knowledge about virology/infection biology, excellent communication skills and the ability to work on a cross-disciplinary project. Experience in recombinant protein production would be preferable
Very good communication skills in English
